Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches
John 15:4-8
4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
I have recently been very busy with work and with wedding preparations. My thoughts and time were consumed with the things I need to do at work and my wedding. My QT has also been rushed and was mostly in reading the book of John.
The above verses reminded me that I need to draw near to God, because Jesus is the Vine and I am the Branch/es. I cannot do anything without him - a branch without the Vine will die after a while and can never bear fruit. Also, how much fruit grows on the branches is not dependent on how good or strong the branch is but on the vine who gives life to the branch.
When I remain in God, He promises to remain in me. The responsibility is on me!
He will then make me fruitful. When I remain in God, He will bless me in my wedding and marriage, my work and my ministry.
Bless you all to draw near to God and remain in Him even as life is busy and there can be many things to do. Because our life can only be fruitful and bear life through God.
Love, Dawn
