MAGICBOXXXX!
here to do some ADVERTISEMENT! this is the exact same thing i posted on my blog so yeah. hahahaha. okay so, some of you MIGHT know my church's senior pastor, Ps Lawrence Khong cause he's like the coolest 55 yr-old i know? hahaha. not that i know many to begin with, but. yeah. heh. so anyway. he's doing this really cool show with his daughter priscilla called MAGICBOX at the esplanade (see, told you it's really professional!) from the 12th to the 20th of June. go check out their awesome website at http://www.magicbox.com.sg/ for details, cast and stuff like that. NOT TO BE MISSED.
for us students, it IS kind of pricey, but i think it's TOTALLY worth it. i've watched the smaller scale and slightly different show that ps Khong and Priscilla put up before the 'Magic of Love' and it was already amazing. So now, MAGICBOX is going to be MUCH better and SOO much cooler. some of you, especially christians, might doubt that what ps Khong is doing is of any good. because magic is always associated to black magic, and magic of the occult.
ps Khong always repeats this phrase in his show the 'Magic of Love' and in his own words "Remember, the basic principle of magic is that things are not what they seem!" what he is trying to say is this, quoted from the book he wrote 'Give me the multitudes' (a very good book which i own that you can borrow from me if you're interested) "...I have found that while many church people and leaders have no problem with Christian magicians pulling rabbits out of a top hat - something which is abviously a trick 0 these same believers cannot accept the illusions which I use to levitate my daughter on stage, fly up to her in the air and cause her to vanish into thin air! The fact is that I have accomplished the latter with the same mechanical means and principles that I use for the former."
Nothing ps Khong is doing, has anything whatsoever to do with the occult, or black magic. He is simply using sleights of the hands, professional fishing line, and whatever else they require that I have absolutely no clue about judging by the fact that it took me 12 years to discover that my daddy's infamous egg trick, performed yearly at my birthday party to amuse my friends, was done with a toothpick. (mavis would know it XD) so yeah, he's using magic, combining it with song, dance, theatre and a heartwarming storyline to share the love between the father and daughter.
The father, though not explicitly spelled out as this is a non-religious show, symbolising our father in heaven and the daughter, representing us. An absolutely amazing show. If you're interested, please do not hesitate to tell me k, there is 15% discount for tickets bought by this sunday. i know for a fact, that you will be greatly blessed by it. ((: LOVE LOADS, DARLINGS. <3
if you haven't realised yet, i was, using the colours of magicbox for the font. heh. :D oh and i'm Vanessa, here. hahaha.
